Chakalaka Bread

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups white cornmeal
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1/4cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 can mild chakalaka

Directions

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease an 8 inch square pan.
Step 2:
Mix cornmeal, sugar, flour & baking powder together in a bowl.
Step 3:
Whisk milk, butter & egg together in another bowl. Stir into cornmeal mixture until combined & some
lumps remain. Fold in corn. Pour batter into the pan & smooth out the top.
Step 4:
Bake in the pre-heated oven until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean (20-25mins).
